The Metallic Series

Copper.

Frost.

Platinum.

Welcome! Thanks for reading my first blog posting.

Back in August I completed a personal project with photographer Seung and close friend Kandy. I call this the Metallic Series.
The concept was to create images of different women of different backgrounds and colouring painted in a metallic sheen.

For this project I have experimented with a mix of different shimmer pigments from MAC. As you can see from the photos the products I used had a fantastic metallic/pearl like finish which reflected the lighting beautifully.

What can I say....I love pigments! However, one must becareful as a little goes a long way! Pigments are pure colour therefore highly dense and concentrated so only a small amount is needed. To give you an idea I painted the girls from waist upwards buffing pigment into the skin in a circular motion with a big fluffy powder brush. The amount I used was only 3/4 of a small MAC pot on each girl ie. 5 grams

Colours I used are Platinum, Frost and Copper and a great brush I recommend using is MAC 182 buffer brush.

Remember to cover up your work space with plastic, I learnt this lesson, makeup was done in my kitchen and the floor was covered in pigment from all the buffing. It was a nightmare to clean but worth it in the end!
